My sister and I had the "mom's care team recommended starting her on Hospice" discussion this morning. Parkinson's is a bitch.
It's not like we couldn't see it coming. I've sort of been in pre-mourning for a few years now; ever since we put ma n pa in assisted living. They've both lived long, full lives. 67 years of marriage. And they are together. Still, doesn't get any easier.jason from volo wrote: Thu Aug 05, 2021 10:05 amDamn. While it seems like you have family, I've spent some time in this exact neck of the woods.kicker_of_elves wrote: Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:39 am My sister and I had the "mom's care team recommended starting her on Hospice" discussion this morning. Parkinson's is a bitch.
How childish.jason from volo wrote: Sat Aug 07, 2021 6:07 pm I apparently did something wrong, my wife won’t tell me what I did
My folks were both robust and healthy, and then old age hit like a ton of bricks. Parkinson's for mom, macular degeneration and profound hearing loss for dad.numberthirty wrote: Fri Aug 06, 2021 6:55 pmWhile it seems like you have family, I've spent some time in this exact neck of the woods.kicker_of_elves wrote: Thu Aug 05, 2021 9:39 am My sister and I had the "mom's care team recommended starting her on Hospice" discussion this morning. First, I'm really sorry that you are going through it.
Second, I'm around if there's any details or things you want to get off of your chest. Calling that disease a bitch is almost not giving it it's due.
