Watch the interviews with Curt(is). It is possible, he says, that there will be a Complete reunion and tour. Also, he says that he is currently recording the 'old' version of Hoogie Boogie Land.

It is too soon to tell what is going on with these new songs. I like them. They certainly don't seem to be thinking too much. It took me a while to click with the original Complete songs.

Like all great art, each exposure reveals deeper textures...

Curtis seems to have a lot of anger on these new songs.

Jesus, that interview is great! Lost his teeth boxing, etc. Got a perm because he thought he wanted to look like Sammy Hagar. Kicked the bass player out of the band because even after a decade together, he still couldn't play the bass worth a damn.

Greatest New Year Ever!

Happy 2008, PRF!

Also,

The song "Eve" might be a masterpiece.

So good.

Classic Complete.

The vocals and lyrics of "I Don't Give a Damn" are incredible. I'll admit to preferring the old lineup, but Curtis still delivers.

We know how to ring in a new year in Chicago.

They certainly don't seem to be thinking too much.

I disagree. The fact that they bothered to change the lyrics for Hoogie Boogie Land is overthinking it. The lyrics were already perfect. As long as they don't fuck around with Beatiful Sunrises. That's their masterpiece!

Perhaps. My gut reaction is that they've lost the purity of their previous incarnation. But, I'll give this new version of Complete another listen.

The new Hoogie Boogie Land is not the same song. It is a different song with the same title. It's a different "movement", in both senses of the word. Did you listen to "Eve"?

I have to admit, this is pretty damn good! And whacked!

I'm listening to it right now. Alright, I withdraw my previous comments. Complete still delivers.

I should probably be locked up.

The guitar solo in the new "Hoogie Boogie Land" is fantastic. In fact, if you took out Curtis' vocals, it sounds a lot like The Fall.

Jesus, these songs are great. If you liked the 'original' Complete, I don't think there's any way you'll be that disappointed with these new songs after a few real listens.

I skimmed this thread and didn't see a link. Forgive me if this has been posted before. I have found some new (?) COMPLETE songs on MySpace. There is a new version of Hoogie Boogie Land -- this one a dark meditation on... Oh, forget it. I am listening to these songs. Enjoy:

Holy shit.
