Yeah, it sounded like she was going that way with the interview I heard, but that section was edited out.

She seemed pretty dignified about the whole thing. I think I'd probably be boiling with rage if I could see such readily apparent hypocrisy in the British Police System.

Elsewhere on this issue, I'm still trying to get my head around the current claim that there were seven children in the apartment when Madeleine McCann disappeared. If this can be proved to be true, it's a pretty damning indictment against not only the McCanns, but everyone else in "the party of eight". Why in the hell are they all lying through their teeth? Dodgy as hell.

I'm not quite sure how Portugese police have come to this conclusion - is it tied in to forensic evidence, does anyone know?

What they've omitted from the above, which was in the orginal PM show interview, was that his mum did say that she felt there was a "class thing" about the whole Madeleine McCann search.

I heard that live and she definitely said that stuff about class. Its disconcerting that they would omit possibly the most significant opinion in the whole bit.
Interestingly on the same show a few weeks ago there was an interview with the former editor of the Sun (forget his name) who admitted that it was probably true that if the McCanns were an unattractive, scrubber family with an ugly buck toothed kid then they would have been condemned as neglectful parents by the press - rather than being supported.

Portuguese paper 24 Horas(?) is running a story currently that Gerry is not Madeleine's biological father and her 'real' father, living in Birmingham, has been questioned and eliminated from the inquiry. That means that Madeleine's father is different to that of the twins, which is obviously significant regarding DNA evidence, particularly if the DNA samples aren't complete.
