Reverb won't let you (re)sell gear as "New - Unopened" unless you're an official dealer, so you'll see a lot of open-box "Used - Mint" things up there.

Shit like this just turns me off. There are 2 for sale on reverb "second hand" now - one for 1599.00 and another for 1869.00. Producing short run pedals like this has to only be with the aftermarket/initial demand in mind, and having the aftermarket value of the thing triple in cost before the thing ships is just gross.
I always appreciated that Mascis took his shit to the masses through Squire. I know that Shields probably had no say in all of this, but I wish more people had a non exclusive mentality.

Anyway, those prices on Reverb are just what some flippers are asking. They're speculative, in addition to being tacky/in bad taste.
If these units actually started selling like hotcakes at +300% markup, then I'd do a double take.
