A pair sold locally (Toronto) for $1200CAD and that's what got me obsessing about them. I found this one for $495USD, which is a bit cheaper than the b-stock ones. A lot of money for a microphone, but there are worse places to park money I guess. I'm excited to record some guitars with it this weekend.

The way the tuning pegs on that are configured is very standard, though. You could take any 8 string guitar and cut a new nut to double up whichever string you choose.

Not that I *agree* with the string angles coming out of that nut, but still....
I was thinking the same, but what about the bridge pegs, which aren't as easily relocated?
Didnt event think about that. But yeah reaming some new holes wouldnt be awful. I suppose in all of this the answer might just be get a 12 string and remove the strings you dont want. The remaining strings wont be perfectly centered but it'd allow you to experiment and find out what configuration you like, then you could cut a proper nut to suit that.

OR.....just say fuck it and buy yourself a BC Rich Bich 10 because, c'mon you deserve it.

I think Jonathan Nido of coilguns plays this kind of 9 string guitars. He even had a Tele that had 9 tuning pegs. great guitar sound definitely!

Noble & Cooley Horizon or Walnut drum set.

Selling off a few things, VERY impressed with these kits. I had the opportunity to play a crazy white/confetti sparkle Horizon kit last week and can't stop thinking about it. Debating going for that OR hitting them up and asking them to build the same kit in a different finish OR go all walnut.
