I tried the allegedly saltiest candy in the world.

It packs a punch for sure, but is not intolerable. I expected worse. Guess they wanted to have it still be edible and not just a memecandy.

(for those of you living closer to Minot, ND, I know, it's going to be worse there)

The video of that Minneapolis-Toronto plane crash is equal parts scary and amazing that everyone survived.

Obviously, I don't know exactly what went wrong, but I have been on flights that felt like they landed that hard on one side of the landing gear *without* the landing gear collapsing and wing hitting the runway. But at the very least, the aircraft design was such that the fire/explosion didn't have a significant impact on the fuselage.

Another video I cannot stop watching.

I learned during an office conversation this morning that a pastor whom I always had to try to keep my face neutral when I found out a family was going to be using him for their funeral died last year. Before the conversation was over I had taken him out of my contacts on my phone, work computer, and the resources cheat sheet hung in my cubicle.

The reason? About twenty years ago, he intentionally embarrassed me in front of a family and the staff at a hospice facility when I was taking their loved one from her room to my van (supposedly because I was moving too fast, when I was moving at a glacial pace). I had told that story a lot over the years, and more often than not been told that he did the same thing to other colleagues at that same place. What I got from the experience is that he did it as a matter of course in order to be seen doing it (almost never a good motivation for doing anything, IMO), and it's just been maddening having to keep how I feel about that locked up whenever I've had to work with him.

So, R.I.P., I guess.

Does it have that ammonia thing?

All salty liquorice is made with ammonium chloride, that’s where the salty taste comes from.

(Incidentally, while salty liquorice is my most favourite candy, non-salty liquorice is among my least favourite ones.)

A consistent pattern for me is feeling tired to the point of collapse on the way home from work, and then having all my energy return as soon as I get home. I'll be thinking "can't wait to get home and take a nap", but as soon as I get home the need for it passes. Today I had a headache all day and thought I was falling ill. Felt it clear away literally the second I stepped off the bus.

Possibly it has to do with my daily energy cycle, it's always at its lowest around 3-4 PM. But the exact timing is uncanny.

In other news I haven't had a full night's sleep in weeks. Not common for me, don't know what the problem is.

I get this, big time. I often sneak into the empty office (which contains a couch) and take 10-minute Edison nap. Works great and I've never been caught. So far.
