It's not just the marginalized that will feel it. 100,000+ federal workers will be let go, "much more" Elon Musk is openly musing with Trump now*. Not to mention every person with ovaries will continue to face unnecessarily complicated state-by-state health care rules. If this were a runaway race for the Dems, maybe there'd be some room for protest votes over decades of bad foreign policy (that literally every Republican still backs, not a minor detail) but it definitely won't be.

*if that steak head Sean O'brien doesn't endorse the Dems this week then fuck him in the eye forever. He's already on the thinnest ice.

This is the problem of the modern left. It thinks goodness is a right to be given, and not a privilege that requires daily work. Moan, vote (or don't), moan at lack of immediate perfection in the world (whilst doing nothing to make that happen). Rinse and repeat.

Because governing requires WORK!

It's just a different kind of conservatism, and the corest of core conservative values is complaining until the cows come home out of one face and laziness and inertia out of the other.

In other words, "I have concepts of a plan." If you want to shut one of those types up, ask them how they intend to accomplish their goals. Radio silence until they find something new to criticize someone else about. It's just the tea party all over again.

You’re onto something here. I was thinking about the UK Conservative Party during the tail end of their 14 year reign thinking “what is the point if you? When did conservatism become ‘doing nothing?’” It was as if they wanted to rule but not govern.

Yep. One can go look up Stein's interview with the Breakfast Club recently to hear lots of finger-pointing at The Establishment, more ire pointed towards AOC than MAGA Republicans, just a bunch of nothing. Oh, she did say she'd make the phone call on day 1 to end the war on Gaza. A fuckin' phone call! She's run 4 times and thinks that's how presidenting works!

What an insult to the progressive candidates who work their way up the (frustrating) Democratic establishment we actually have.

I stopped going to Green Party meetings during W's first administration when I realized they really had no idea how to do shit. Having the right worldview does not automatically translate to an effective and productive application of that worldview within the framework of the political landscape that your parents happened to fuck in and/or deliver you, to poorly paraphrase Hicks. They had books, ideas, demands and not a lot more. (It's actually an interesting study in how to ineffectively apply a non hierarchical system of organization, but that's for another day.)

That seems not to have changed in 22+ years.

It's not that Harris and the Democrats are good and will transform your lives. They'll continue on a path of mediocrity and corporate meat-beating. It's really just keeping a depraved old man being propped up by Christo-fascists out of office. Fuck that shit.

The Green, Libertarian, etc. parties are lazy shit bums, for sure.

I love how the Libretardians annual convention went into full meltdown over… the wearing of seatbelts one year.

Not serious people.
