Yes! Read them all over the course of one summer, and I am not at all a novel reader in general. Riveting stuff.

I know there aren't many Tom Waits fans on this board, but this weekend I was shocked to see his 1987 concert movie Big Time on Netflix. It's still wildly uneven, but I still enjoyed about a third of it.

Well...Barry and Better Call Saul have both completely lost my interest after the latest handful of episodes. After being two of the best shows on TV. I'm sure it's me, not them.

Been watching the new Kids In the Hall episodes. It’s mostly been low-grade chuckles, but the doodoo skit on episode 5 just cracked my shit up.

Not entirely just you.

One half of the storyline (the one that follows the title character) feels like it is just filling time right now until something bigger happens, which is disappointing, because I love Kim.

Not enough of Lalo, Gus, Mike.

I've been watching it. Pretty good. It's a typical Duplass style deal with likeable flawed characters trying to sort their shit out in a dramedy way.

As an English major I appreciated some of the cultural humor, but I wonder if a small town, east coast, liberal arts school person would connect even more. Or if faculty of a school like that would find it semi realistic. I went to a lowly state college.
I watched it and it wasn't that good. It was hard for me to immerse myself in the environment. Do things like that actually happen? Granted the in-show events were ridiculous, but it was basically entirely dismissive of student protesters. Well there was that thing about black students wanting to do their thing and they got to do it so I guess that's good. That's kinda the thing though, it didn't feel to me like anything was that important to them. The behaviour of the university administration though, that I can totally picture.

And citing Alan Bloom in defense of the humanities, really?

I'm just barely holding on to Barry. It's barely funny or dramatic anymore. But I find myself losing interest in most things after a season or two these days. Season 3 of Atlanta has been spotty too.

Watched Road to Perdition for the first time since I saw it at the movies. I love Millers Crossing but watching the look on Hanks face when he machine guns Newman is classic.

So far I'm a little bit underwhelmed. I'm sure it'll all come together, but last season was so intense, and it seems like aside from the Ignacio drama, they're spending a whole lot of time clowning on Hamlin, a character I'd be fine forgetting about. It's the last season and it's building to something huge. Fucking with Hamlin just seems like treading water.
Yeah, the last few episodes weren't blowing my socks off. This should be a Season 1 / 2 type deal.

Netflix

Love, Death + Robots Season 3

A lot of it is eminently skippable, but episodes 1 ("Three Robots: Exit Strategies"), 2 ("Bad Travelling"), 4 ("Night of the Mini Dead") are worth a watch and episode 9 ("Jibaro") is a standout. You might enjoy the animation style in episode 3 ("The Very Pulse of the Machine") as well.
