Fucking hell, citation anxiety paralyzed me every time I tried to write something (do I need to cite this? do I need more notes?). I love writing but it's just impossible to get into a flow when it's like that. No fun.

I wanna see people actually PLAY the thing.
Right. I have no issue with Andy from Reverb tastefully dialing in a Soundgarden riff or whatever on a piece of gear where that makes sense. Failed LA Hair Metal Guy shredding pentatonic solos thru everything from a Roland Cube to a speaker emulator pedal just gets obnoxious after a hundred other demos like that.

I'm never sure how deliberately condescending beginning a response to something with "I'll bite" is meant to be.

There are some circumstances where I don't notice it, or it seems on point, but most of the time it screams "this issue and/or the way you have presented it is beneath me, but I will humour you and descend to your level to answer." It feels like it's built to backfire. If you're above it, don't descend, and if you're not above it, don't pretend you are.

Interesting....to me "I'll bite", sounds like the "bait" is tempting enough that the responder can't help but respond....so I would find that it is praising the posited topic as thoughtful and deserving of their attention.

"I'll take the bait" sounds like the"bait" is beneath them, and designed to be a provocation, and they feel but they want to school you, or otherwise argue. But even this could be used sarcastically or less insultingly.

Hadn't seen it that way, but will keep an eye out!

For me, "I'll bite" is shorthand for "A fair amount is going on here, it might not be wise to get caught up in an internet discussion now, especially if we end up opening a can of worms, but here goes . . ."

But is it not rather that the arguments are retreading themselves and so on how should I put it?
Yes. My ability to use words fluctuates.

Yeah, it seems like the labels are starting to cater to a popular transition from cultivating an iTunes library to streaming instead.
