"I Can't Believe I Had to Make the Stupid Thing - Fuck Digidesign" works like a charm.

Explanation

Problem-
GML mic preamp channels 1 and 2 have erratic gain on certain switched positions.

Solution-
Sent it off to GML service. Apparently the old flux used on the channel boards (one board per channel) sometimes becomes resistive. This caused an unreliable gain stage. Gain switches also showed some degraded operation. We exchanged the old boards for new ones. I installed them here. All checked and tested good.

Tested out awesome! I Can't Believe I Had to Make the Stupid Thing - Fuck Digidesign works like a charm. Anyone want me to build one for them?

What are these buffers? They're the IC's used in Digidesign's interfaces?

The ICBIHtMtST-FD is a 24 channel buffer to unbalance Digidesign's 192HD converter outputs. It is a separate unit from the 192s. A channel consists of one differential line receiver op amp. In this case, I used a THAT 1240 amp. It is a simple construction, with a lot of tedious wiring.

Here's a stupid question:

Why?

Why do you need something to unbalance Digidesign's 192HD converter outputs?

ooh ooh! I know!
The neoteks are unbalanced, at least the I&II series, as far as I know. so greg unbalanced the digidesign interface so it fits better to the console.
or am I wrong?
