Barring something going completely sideways with the application processing, I finally found a place in Chicago. What a fucking relief. It’s pretty much exactly everything I was looking for. Now the big headache is going to be packing, sorting movers, etc. Also, fuck Zillow.

Yesterday I went to an advanced screening of Bring Her Back. Upon my arrival I noticed a lot of Comic Book Guy-guys milling about, but, like, for horror, and thought to myself: it is I. One was super loud. When we were finally seated this guy and his loud mouth dominated every conversation in the auditorium. Like, man, I don't want to hear about what you think of every A24 movie. Seriously grating. As the movie was about to start dude kept on yappin' to which I turned around aggressively and asked him to be quiet. He scoffed. Later in the movie a different dude sitting next to me kept checking his phone. I think I'm done with advanced screenings and opening nights. I need it stupidly quiet. Bizarrely quiet. The communal experience of being in the cinema can be something great but people today like to act a fool. Think I'm done with advanced screenings and opening nights.

The other day I ran into a young black Gen z girl wearing a Mötley Crüe Dr. Feelgood shirt. I just had to compliment her to which she immediately replied that she had no idea who the band was.

Lastly, I'm currently outside waiting on a bus caught up in a dust storm of all things.

I was at a James Blake concert and these partiers were talking non-stop next to me, during loud and very quiet passages. I politely (really, very politely) asked them to quiet down, and then got scoffed at for the rest of the night, I could feel the side-eye. Fuck them.

^ last fall this good looking gen z dude was wearing a rob zombie shirt and he was acting like he knew everything about life.. i called him a kid but at least he knew a good album and he told me he just thought the shirt looked dope and i told him what posers are and that in the real 90s you get beat up for wearing a band shirt and not knowing ish about them
