I don't think so, at least I've never heard of this word. Yiddish maybe, though that's like 200 year old german.

Some austrian guy told us that. I also tried loogking in a german english dictionary, and it says stange is a rod/pole. Maybe it is an old word. dunno.

Ah, Stange, the e was missing in your first post which had me confused. Also, Austrians are odd people and they've got a different slang for prostitutes, as does every other town here, it seems.

So I decided to use this particular thread to introduce myself. I'm John, I live in Ohio, and I've been writing music for a year or so now. I work three or so jobs, so I've found it easier to lay down separate tracks in my spare time using (sorry, Steve) Adobe Audition and my (now stolen, but masters not along with) laptop. The result is Avast, which is how I'm billing this shit.

www.myspace.com/avastmusics - "Down the Line" there is probably the best track I've written, and it's hard for me to really say there's a "best".. more like that's what everyone who's heard any of my music has said they liked the best. I think it's catchy. You can download them as MP3's from that page if you don't want to listen through MySpace, which I recommend you do download them, as they'll then be in "full" fidelity.. or as much fidelity as you can squeeze from a digital signal whose sources were a bunch of shitty preamps connected to guitars and shitty drum mics, which is all I have the money for. The nicest mics I used were really good vocal Electro-Voices that are owned by the public radio station I "interned" at for awhile, they yielded really warm results.

If you listen, that's awesome.. if not, that's cool too, I didn't join just to hawk my amateurish slop. I looked around this forum for twenty minutes and wanted to join in posting, you all seem like a bunch of cool people.
