I have found his death very hard to accept to the point where i've just felt numb and disconnected. It's brutal and hard to watch. It's a lot of things but it doesn't feel like a stand up special. It's so poignant on first viewing it's hard to even take in that they are probably funny jokes he's doing.

It's very unique and i love Norm so much, and i know a lot of people on this forum did, so that's why I'm posting about it without fully taking it in or even comprehending it.
I just watched the Norm special and wanted to acknowledge your sentiments. I've been a fan more than thirty years. He was among the best to ever do stand up. I know he said things that ruffled feathers in his later years. I make no apologies for that. I just appreciate the work, and this was a powerful and unique final performance. Pretty incredible.

We’re 3/4th through the latest David Simon series, We Own This City, which is about a gun-trace police task force in Baltimore that operated like a gang.

First episode wasn’t great. The writing was far too expository. It gets quite a lot better after that.

My hot take is that David Simon’s two biggest talents are (1) finding great subjects and marshaling them through the production process, and (2) hiring people who can write better than David Simon. He’s not terrible, but he’s consistently the weakest writer on the team for any given show.

Almost bought the book of this recently. Will check out the TV version first.

Interesting take on Simon, and I don't entirely disagree with you, but his book Homicide is excellent.

Oh, Homicide is great. But for scripted shows, he’s fine, but the writers he hires are often even better.

Agreed. I watched it again and it was much different the second time around. It's really beautiful. I read a review describe it as a wake and i couldn't think of a more apt description.

Carlin's American Dream on HBO Max was good. Makes a good case for continuously reinventing and improving one's act in order to stay relevant, vs. settling on being transphobic garbage.

New kids in the hall contains some Ontario local references that no-one outside of there will get, but overall has exceeded my expectations. As perfect a revisit as it could be

SHORESY.
Expectations exceeded. Definitely more well thought out than the last 2 seasons of Letterkenny.

Interesting. I expect very little. I kinda felt like an entire show based on Shoresy would be "too much."

The third season of Love Death and Robots on Netflix is great.

In particular, one called Night of the Mini Dead is probably the best 7 minutes I've spent in front of my TV in years. Hilarious, incredibly well-executed, and so much fun.
