Mason wrote:If you were going to pick just one of these pedals for guitar and bass, though mostly guitar, would you pick the Boxidizer or the Rusty Box? Not saying I wouldn't pick up both, but you know, to start with.I should also say this would be for D.I.-style recording.Mostly guitar = mostly Boxidizer for me, though I don't think you can go wrong here.

My Rusty Box has developed a really high pitched whine. It's not super loud, but enough to keep me from using it. I was guessing that it's the wall wart but since it's 30volt I don't have a way to A/B it. Anyone else ever had this problem?

is it only when hitting the rusty on with the footswitch or all the time? For a while ours would make a weird high pitched whine every now and then when switched on. Bit of contact cleaner on the switch seemed to fix it though.

It is on when the Rusty is on. I've had this problem before with a bad wall wart but just threw it away and replaced it since 9v warts are everywhere. Being that I don't have a second 30v wart, it's harder to test if that is the problem. I guess I should just buy one and see, if it isn't the wart, it wouldn't hurt to have a spare lying around.

New adapter. no noise. I run mine into one of those Peavey 60 Watt all Tube Power amps into a single 15 ampeg cab with some giant heavy celestion speaker in it. Sounds pretty ok.These can be had really cheap and also come in a Stereo 60 watt, and 120 watt stereo version that I believe can be bridged for, like, MORE LOUD! The fan is hella noisy though.

Verbs & Nouns wrote:Am I doing something wrong?EDIT: I have no idea what I m really doing with anything like this. Not anything that can't be straightened out. From the looks of this page on the 450, that "Access In/Out" jack is seemingly an Insert jack. Think about it like an Insert on a mixing board. What I would suggest doing is picking up one of these...http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/228393-Cable-Up-by-Vu-YS-PM3-PM2D-5-BLK(Where you wind up buying it from won't matter. Just that you get a cable like that)The way it will likely work goes a little something like this -- Plug the male end that looks like a "Headphone" cable into the back of the 470.- One of the male ends that looks like a "Guitar" cable will go to the input of the Rusty Box.- One of the male ends that looks like a "Guitar" cable will go to the output of the Rusty Box.Once those connections are make, it will be "Inserted" into the "Access In/Out" jack. Once you've done that, I'd give it a try.One last thing, I think one of the folks posting in that thread may be someone who posts here.

One last thing...I'd start with the Rusty Box "Instrument" output as opposed to it's "Line" output, and see how that sounds.Good luck.
