Does it bring the klank?

If you ever want to sell, I have a friend here who is interested, maybe.

It's just a smidge of klank on top of what is basically a P bass sound.

My main guitar is a cheap ibanez strat copy.
It was owned by 2 different people who treated it like shit until I rescued it.
It's been lying in pieces on my floor for the last 6 months, but I've just finished shielding the inside today, and it should be back up and running in the next week or two.
Its previous owner managed to smash a big hole in the scratchplate, so I replaced that and put some new pickups, electronics etc. inside. I managed to snap the headstock in two while changing the tuners, but it's been stuck back together pretty solidly. The new ones had different hole patterns to the old ones, and it just didn't seem to like it much.

I fixed it up pretty well a while ago, but then thought I'd swap out the bridge pickup for a tele pickup. I decided to make some more hard work for myself and stick a whole tele bridge on it. If nothing else it'll look cool.
I've had to find a chunk of wood and cut it to just the right size where the strat bridge went through the body, then figure out exactly where the tele bridge wants to sit on top, then hack away a bit of the body so that the pickup will sit in the right place.

I'm going to build some kind of distortion circuit to put in the back where the bridge springs were. It had a fuzz face in there for a while but i got bit bored of it. Any suggestions? It'll be going through an orange AD30r, and I already have a clean boost pedal and a boss sd-1.

I've also got an epiphone dot. I'm planning on changing the pickups and pots in there when the strat's done. It sounds pretty crappy through the orange because they're both so dark. I got an old solid state WEM PA head for £20 that needs a little looking after, so hopefully when I've sorted that out they'll go together a bit better.

Oh, I'm mainly a drummer, and a pretty shit guitarist... I just like DIY instruments.

Matt.

I had a nice email exchange with Kevin from Electrical and I'm pretty much certain I'm going to be ordering a Custom very soon.

I've been creeping around this board as of late and decided to finally join. So hey.

Still the same set up.

Still haven't ordered my Electrical.

My first ever post!

would you believe that I now have *two* of those? one red slightly-pointy-strat type that I've had for maybe 8 years, and one black explorer style that I got about a year ago from a friend. I gutted the red one and hardwired the pickup straight to the output jack. the black one I'm not even sure if the speaker works or not actually.

they sound incredible through that speaker, right? I never heard it, but I have to assume it's incredible. ;)

There should be a PRF Synsonic support group. I'll bring the refreshments and my copy of Tim.

The sound, she was superb. Like paper rolled into a cone, wired to cheap pickups. R.I.P. Synsonic.
