I'll call you absolutely first thing in the morning. (slam phone) Ah, shit. They are not gonna release the album...because they have decided that the cover is sexist.
Nigel: Well so what? What's wrong with being sexy? I mean there's no....
Ian: Sex-ist.
David: -ist, not sexy.

It's true. Saying women are pretty is sexist.

Oh shut up you clueless spoiled little rich kid.

Go ahead! Make be a target again, why the fuck do you think people agree with me when you do that? Because all you are doing is making me a target for the sake of making me a target. It's tantamount to the thing you accuse everyone else of.

If acknowledging her beauty, is sexist, lock me up.

the worst thing about sexism, is that it takes something something awesome ie. saying someone looks hot/cool/fit and turns it in a question of prospective ownership.

this thread reads like people indexing the contents of their jewelry boxes by price. a couple of cool pics, though, must be said, must be said.

There's no reason to overreact.

As for the spoiled rich kid comment, I would just suggest that you not be so presumptuous. I am neither, by most standards.

I was not trying to make a target of you. I am simply saying that I do not think it sexist to discuss which women in music we find attractive. Women are human beings, and human beings have attibuted to them the quality of varied measures of beauty. Discussing those measures is not sexist.

That's all. That simple.

i motion to you that those values are not objective and are, for better or for worse, created by the discussion itself

I don't think I said that they are objective, I said that they exist for all humans, and that I don't think that discussing our subjective perception of those values is sexist.

Plenty of things in this world, and on this board, are sexist. Saying Chan Marshall is pretty just isn't one of them, and saying so just makes people reactionary and dismissive when somehting actually is sexist.

I guess this had to come up at some point in this thread.
