Is there a metra train that goes out there (Schaumburg) off the blue line somewhere? I want to go to IKEA for some essential shit, like sheets, bathmats and shower curtains etc. because their prices are like 1/3 of what they are at Target.

Not directly off the Blue Line, no. You can, however take the Blue Line down to the Clinton stop & walk due north to Union Station. From there, hop a Milwaukee District West Line train out to Schaumburg. This is where you run into trouble. The train will let you off by the minor-league ballpark off Irving & Springinsquth, but there's no way to get from there to IKEA that I'm aware of unless you've got a buddy out that way willing to pick you up or you call a cab.

Not Crap, with a couple waffles on the side. My only real gripe with them is that their shit can be a bit of a hassle to assemble. Can you please pre-drill your holes to the correct size, IKEA? I'm sick & tired of having to widen them sonsabitches!

i went to ikea for the first time recently, hm i hope i haven't posted to this thread already. anyway, it is a pretty awesome experience. the food is pretty bad, i mean total school cafeteria swede style,and the meatballs made me constipated! which made my first ikea experience kind of an adventure. the bathroom hand dryers are turbo powered, like reverse dyson or some shit. the furniture is all fun to look at--especially the designed rooms and the mini apartments designed by sq. footage, and picking up your stuff is fun too. like a zany sams. i think that some of their stuff was less exciting and more target-like than i would have expected (ie the prints)... like fuzzy baby hands and tigers and shit. but oh well. there are so many one dollar items it's easy to get carried away, and makes up for any compromised material. the little free pencils are also fun. if you need something specific like a coffee table or tv stand there are a ton of things in all the price ranges, in many sizes--and they're super easy to put together. much of it, at close inspection, looks the price though and the finished plywood stuff chips like a mofo if you are a denter or a furniture puncher. some of their furniture, like sofas and things, looked a little worn out in the show room, which kind of implied their longevity.

i dunno, it's fun and economical, and a great time waste if you live near one. there's so much shit we weren't able to cover the entire space in four hours.

I once had fling with a girl who misunderstood the status of our relationship and was very upset when we broke up.

One of the reasons that she gave for thinking things were more serious than they were was that one day I took her to IKEA (on my suggestion, no less).

So it may be that a visit to IKEA is one way of proving your love to the woman in your life.

some of the stuff ain't bad, and it all seems reasonably priced. i bought my dresser there and i'm pleased...a little less so when i think of how much it looks like an IKEA purchase. oh well. also bought one of those $6 desk lamps and the switch came loose after two weeks.

couldn't quite get myself to eat the cafeteria food, but you can't beat those dollar hot dogs.
