I think this is all utterly redundant. I wouldn't refer to any band I like as screamo, emo, mall punk, cock rock, goth, etc. Good music defies categorization, especially when the category barely existed before some media douche overheard it and sprayed it all over the airwaves.

My vote is whaaaaaaaaaaaaatever.

I can't stand that word, although some bands like Envy are ok but the word is crap.
Thank God no one from this forum lives in Lyon (in France), this is THE capital of screamo. There are dozens of music forums exclusively about screamo bands. I sometimes browse through a french forum called Forum Emocore where they talk about screamo crap bands and music gear. You can find posts like "What is the best guitar amp to play emo??".

If you're curious and also want to improve your french, the forum is
http://forum.emocore.free.fr/index.php

I forgot to say.....CRAP.

These kids are victims of their own low-self-esteemo.

Someone needs to kick them in the spleen....mo.
Yeah, sorry about that.
That's why I don't write the lyrics.

The term "screamo" just seems forced to me.
What would you think if someone, in all seriousness, described a genre thusly:
"Yeah, we play Heaviest Metal"
"Oh, we're a Spunk Rock band"
"Oh man, those jerks are the best Cuntry Rock band in the land"
"Shudder to Think? Sure, I'd say they were F-agit Punk"
"Stars Of David are an amazing Jew Wave band"

And "Extremo?"
Oh man, that is just wrong.

Kids today! What's wrong with 'em? We give them the worst political landscape in 25 years and the best they can do is talk about *themselves*?
Ingrates.
Where is the new Jello Biafra? Hell, at this point I'd be happy with the new Jim Skafish.

It was supposed to be funny. And we weren't sreamo. And it was ten years ago. I am sure everyone here was in the greatest band of all time when they were 20. Come on, we had a song about Fred Mertz obsessing over Lucille Ball's pubic hair.
