Perhaps a bit whiny for the EA folks, but Clor put out an amazing debut album this year.
Also, The Shadow Ring are still around, I think.
Not to mention a gazillion great electronic dance artists.. the MFA.. where to start..

They're not British, but Dublin's The Dudley Corporation put out a great sophomore album In Love With The Dudley Corporation this year as well. Great stuff.. the videos on the CD are really amusing.

How about Charlottefield
these guys are admitidley very good friends of mine so i am biased, but fuck are they good. the live shows are excellent 95% of the time, but the battles show wasn't so good (sound was awful, tempos were a little skew wiff etc).
i second joeyfat (again good chums, so sorry to be biased).
try these:
cove
songs of my lap
shink
ooo, and paper cut out are the best live british band after joeyfat, so check them out.

I was in the band that Clor became! Or some of Clor anyway. That's my old Westone in the new 'Good Stuff' video.
