It's pretty good "jam rock", but I really bought it for the album cover:
I was really disappointed in this record when I bought it. Maybe I'll dig it out and give it another shot.
I don't really like this record. But I rather like In the Skies, in particular the song "Seven Stars," which is a clinic in guitar arranging.

That Rumours classic albums episode has been on VH-1 Classic again lately. I could watch Lindsey Buckingham play guitar all fucking day. I think he just might be one of my favorite guitarists of all time. Seems like a pretty intelligent, all right guy, too.

I hope, in your fit of VH-1 Classic watching, you are taking in the Rutles movies.
Oh, and by the way, watching VH-1 Classic makes you officially an old person.

I thought about it last night, but I figured I'd watched enough television already. I haven't seen
All You Need is Cash since it was first shown on TV, and I didn't even know
Can't Buy Me Lunch existed.
Oh, and by the way, watching VH-1 Classic makes you officially an old person.
Yeah, I knew that the minute I started preferring VH-1 to MTV--and that was a long time ago.
Or maybe it was when I had back surgery.
Or when a student first told me I reminded her of her dad.

The often mentioned self titled, Rumours, and Tusk albums are NOT CRAP.
Lindsay Buckinghams guitar playing is NOT CRAP.
"Gypsy" is NOT CRAP
Even "Hold Me" is NOT CRAP

NOT CRAP whatsoever.
Five years ago I would have said CRAP, but I was young and foolish and thought Fleetwood Mac were an average MOR rock/pop band.
Then I realised that they are in fact an exceptional rock/pop band, and there's nothing wrong with that at all.
For the record: NOT CRAP

I don't like Fleetwood Mac in general - I think I just heard some proper shite of theirs (during the 80's) and ever since I haven't been able to give them a second chance.
But the other day I heard Albatross... I know that this is considered a pretty lame peice of music (by people I know anyway). I didn't even know it was the Fleetwood Mac's. I was so good - almost droney rock - beautiful cymbal washes and ambient spacey repeated guitar lines. I wasn't even stoned...
I feel weird about saying I liked it... I have been an avid FM hater as long as I have know of them.
