Howard Stern s last terrestrial broadcast.......

howard is howard. not my cup of tea, but i saw the movie and i see where he's coming from.
what i hate are all his imitators. any male/female morning radio duo that tries this act always falls short of robyn and howard. usually the man overplays his hand by saying something humorless and obnoxious or shocking at the wrong time and the woman laughs uncomfortably hoping he will cut to a song. then when he doesn't quit, she attempts to inject some humorless sense into the conversation and comes off as the wrong person for the job of shock jock morning radio hostess. always. i heard it this morning on a commercial country station. (someone else's radio of course)

If it makes ya feel like a big shot, yes I am. I am a fraud.

"The Howard Stern Show" has all of these things and more. However, none of these things precludes it from being an intelligently executed show, which it is.

In addition, I don't think that the show would have worked for these many years if it was just a poop joke show and lacked a basic humanity.

Right. Unplanned banter puts it far above anything else on radio. I was listening to the reruns, and hearing them make that guy repeat the telephone joke was amazing.

Hey,

I have listened to the first three Sirius programs presented by Mr. Stern et al., and they are very good. I've been a non-obsessed fan of the show for many years, but wasn't buying the hype about the new show. Alas, it has been wonderful.

Now, if Sirius would carry Major League Baseball, I would gladly subscribe at once. They do not, however, carry MLB. XM carries MLB.

So it's up in the air at the moment. Perhaps in the future there will be a 'universal' satellite radio receiver, and one would be able to subscribe to specialty channels above and beyond the 'basic' service. Like cable TV, yes?

Anyone else listening to Stern these past few days?

I have been told that mp3 versions of these shows are available on your favorite P2P thingamajig.

Best,
Mr. King
