You need only look in the mirror, my friend.

Speaking of Flying Dog, apparently we can thank Hunter S. Thompson for bankrolling their startup. That's pretty cool.

You aren't kidding. That stuff gave me the worst hangover. My friends were replenishing my beer without my awareness so I had no idea how much I was drinking. I liked it when I first tried it, but after that night (er, morning).. 1 bottle limit!

I'm glad someone finally mentioned 1554. A must purchase whenever on tap. If you come out west and see obsidian stout from deschutes brewery in bend or, or pretty much anything else from deschutes, try it. Its damn worth it.

Just an update... I asked Sam's Wine if they'd be carrying Fat Tire and this is what they replied...

Sam's will be carrying the legendary Fat Tire mid February but the brew will not be carried outside of Chicago city limits until May or June.

So there you go...

Great company. Great beer. And you're correct. In honor of his passing they released the Gonzo Imperial Stout...which is without a doubt one of the best imperials I have EVER had. Hat's off those guys.

Well, it's here - picked up a half-dozen 22oz "bomber" bottles at Sams last night. Cool little banner on the label too - something like "Chicago Inaugural... First time Fat Tire available (legally) in the Second City"

I am beerily happy now. Can't wait to drink one tonight!

Spent the evening at the Kulminator in Antwerp.

Enjoyed a 1999 Chimay Blue, Abbeye des Rocs Grand Cru, Bush on draft, Gouden Carolus Bok on draft, Gouden Carolus Classic, De Graaf Triple, Saint Monon Triple, Authentique Triple, Affligem Dubbel 99, 1983 bon mirage parfait, and some clown bought me a Bud.

Who's the mack?
