i had to search to see if this was ever a topic. i hadn't watched mr. show in quite a while but i saw one the other night that made me want to start watching again. the satanic church skit style as an evangelistic church. i forgot how funny that was. Bob telling Jill "you are the Mother of all Whores", and it is a compliment. and "to hell with both of you" as a warm greeting. David Cross as the lazy teenager guilty of "the glorious sin of sloth."
I got to see them do the show live twice, when they went on tour a few years ago. A San Francisco show was so-so, 2 nights later in Sacremento at a smaller venue, they were on. It was as good as any show i've ever seen. My friend took me to drink at the local bar (ironsides?) afterwards and the whole mr. show crew showed up and we all sat at a table together and drank much draft beer. i wish i had stayed sober so i remembered more of it, but Odenkirk was giving me lots of kindly advice on my impending fatherhood.
Sometimes mr. show seemed too clever for its own good, some skits weren't as funny as others, etc. I still think they got closer than anyone else will get for a long time.

Drugsachusetts... almost as funny as Chicagay... Chicagay is funnier because it's true. I don't think Massachusetts has that high a level of drug use. I'd have to say, Chicagay has more, if you consider poppers a drug.

I love this show. I can do without most of the musical bits they ever did, and Ronnie Dobbs never seemed all that funny. But most episodes make me laugh out loud plenty. I'm hoping season 5 comes out soon.
The movie wasn't good by any stretch, but measured against the average Hollywood comedy, it's not nearly as bad as people make it sound.
It made me laugh more than, say, Dodgeball.

i love the footage from their live stage show on the first dvd where bob starts talking about his masturbation fantasies during the introduction. has anyone seen that? i almost pissed myself.
