Crap.
But I wasn't complaining whil dropping over $1k (in Decmber alone) on $3.99/2.99 CD's & $7.99/8.99 imports

I never had a great fondness for record stores. to me they were always experiences of frustration trying to find things I liked, or way over priced.
Record stores are just the friendly looking face of the music industry. kind of like the A&R guy.
There are a few that have been truly dedicated to the music and not the industry. the one that comes to mind is: Downtown Music Gallery. Other than that, fuck tower and their racks of celine dion.
