Could be "The Princess Bride." Could, I suppose, be any one of a bunch of movies, but the rule says one guess per person, and that's mine!

Oho, I see I need to make things a bit tougher.

"An FBI agent relocates a mob informant."

Midnight Run

I can tell you that this is wrong.
DeNiro was a bail bonds guy if I remember correctly.
Grodin wasn't a mob informant.
I forget what he was

Go back to your job as the webmaster of the Midnight Run fansite!

My Blue Heaven

Correct, Slowriot. Nice job.

"A swashbuckler must save a woman."

Yes, so many choices. I shall go with "Cabin Boy". Half richboy, half swashbuckler equals one complete hilarious movie.

Jesus, you're good. I'm going to take it up a notch:

"Private detectives try to retrieve cryptic information."

OK, here's some of my own four-word summaries:

1. Guys fight secretly, plotting

2. Bridge building kinda fails

3. Politician talks a lot

4. Androids in the rain

Too hard. But it's better to make a wrong guess than no guess, so I'ma go with "Chinatown."

And I'll add this now, so I don't have to make a new post when the correct answer is guessed by somebody:

I wrote:Shit! I should have known that one!

The fun in this game is in finding out how wildly off your initial guess is due to the absurdity of the overly-generalized synopsis.

Hopefully choppy won't kill me for hijaking this one from the game, but i don't think it will translate as well on the board, but will still exemplify all that is right with this game.

The clue was: "Godzilla fights Rodan."

Naturally, everyone's guess was "Godzilla vs. Rodan," and yet, it was "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla." Hilarity!
