Was there a pilot or something before series one started?

Start with the miniseries... then season 1.
then season 2 and season 2.5 (don't ask!)
then the "webisodes" (not needed, but pretty cool)
then season 3

If you use the "bitorrent" the kids are so crazy for, you should be able to get them all.

I'm confused: so was that the entire Cylon fleet that was occupying New Caprica? Or just some Cylons? If you do not want to expose your nerdiness, feel free to PM.

Also, fat Apollo is retarded. Otherwise, season 3 is excellent so far.

And after seeing Mr. Jung's photo, I can agree that he does in fact look like The Chief. Feel honored, Angus Jung.

I was just assuming it was a large part of the fleet that got destroyed, but that there were still more out there lurking. Not 100% sure about this though.

I agree, fat Apollo is stupid. Those fake jowls are whack. I keep waiting for the work-out montage when he gets in shape.

My assumption is that the Cylons have way more than four basestars (i doubt they nuked 12 planets with a fleet that size), but i could be wrong. There's lots of talk in nerd forums right now about how repeated downloadings are starting to take their toll on the Cylons (see: Brother Cavil's rant about how each dl is getting more painful), so perhaps they're trying to conserve their forces?

There was talk in the Television Without Pity forums about how funny it would have been after Adama's 'stache-shaving sequence to pan over to Lee peeling off the fat suit.

Thought I read somewhere that he really gained weight for the role. Can't remember where I read that.

I saw both seasons in their entirety before seeing the miniseries. A friend had neglected to put it on the hard-drive that he lent me. You have no idea how brilliant I thought this show was. I mean, I still love the show but I imagined that:

The series started suddenly with people in space and chaos reigned. What?!? What's with the Cylons attacking so regularly? Why are they on the run? Who is that guy?

I didn't know the truth about Boomer for most of the first series.

It was really incredible thinking that these writers had the nerve to throw the audience in the middle of chaos and figured that we'd be smart enough to pick up the pieces. At this point in the series the chemistry between the characters was amazing. Bam. They WERE those characters. No build-up necessary.

It was so odd to find out about the miniseries and finally watch it. The characters seemed so stiff since the actors weren't settled in their roles yet. Everything was spelled out. Clearly. Like normal. It was still a great series but I really enjoying having to figure everything out. Great, great fun. I'm glad I saw it that way first.

I hope not. The sexual tension between Starbuck and Apollo is one of the main plot-drivers for those characters, and killing either of them would be a pretty cheap resolution to that. If anything, i could see Dualla or Anders getting killed.
