geiginni - The area around Franklin and Third in Minneapolis hasn't changed a whole lot. The Amoco got a facelift (now sporting a sunny BP facade -- and the same scowling clientele). Third Ave. is now "Avenue of the Arts," presumably because there's been a museum at one end for a century and now there's a new bridge over I-94 with "arty" lights on it. If this is progress, we're doomed. I may just move back to Albany Park.

I'll be starting in Chicago on the first of June. Holy shit! things are gonna' start to move fast.

I contacted Carrie Weston....thanks again, Bob!

Thanks again to everyone for their advice and opinions. Perhaps I'll have a chance to meet some of you folks in the near future.

Cheers,
Geiginni

geiginni -

the yuppie ratio in humbolt is rising. last year, the alderman got complaints from the yuppies living across from the park about the noise and congestion with regard to the puerto rican weekend festivities and they ended up moving the fest back two weeks because some of the yups would be out of town then.

Resurrecting an old thread to add another endorsement for Carrie. She made house-hunting from a distance a lot easier and more pleasant, and I would recommend her if you are looking to buy a place. Thanks Carrie!

I'm not even totally sure about this job thing yet. When I find out I'm definately going to give Bob's wife a call though. Thank's Bob!

Thanks all, for the input. I certainly appreciate it.

Cheers all,
Geiginni

Carrie is great. She will hook you up, I am sure.
Good luck!

It turns out Carrie also helped a good friend of mine and her husband find a great house to buy in Bucktown. Salut!
