Alexander really isn't that bad. It's too long and a little slow, but it's about a 6.8. It's not dreck.
Most directors are lucky to make 3 very good movies in their career, IMO. Natural Born Killers, Platoon, JFK and Wall Street are all good to great. Salvador is very good, also, and even the Doors was okay, I thought.

The Flight 93 movie will be fiction treated as non-fiction.

And anyways, as already stated, it's really too soon for a movie on this subject. Why now?
