Lately i've been thinking of what if all the women in the world were wiped out rather then the men in that story line.....doesn't bear thinking about really.

Little Nemo in Slumberland.

Fucking gorgeous. The craftsmanship alone that went into this...wow. And all before the First World War! Proof that Superman was maybe one of the worst things to happen to the medium.

Just look:

The recent hardbound collection is essential. It preserves the original size of the pages (1 full newspaper page each!) making for one gigantic comic book.

Ennis did Judge Dredd for a while didn't he?

I remember reading something called Revere in 2000AD years ago, which i remember had amazing art work (i think it was John Smith, and Simon Harrison?)... I can't remember the story. I just remember a part where the main guy swallows broken glass, and puked it back up with stomach acid into someone's face...

anyone?

I've never found any of the manga, but I have a bootleg VHS copy of one of the live-action movies. I think it's the first one. I would assume that the animated version is significantly more explicit.

I recommend the Lone Wolf and Cub and Lady Snowblood manga series. I strongly recommend Raijin's big, full-color "Master Edition" series of my all-time favorite manga, Fist of the North Star, with the caveat that the company went out of business after publishing 10 of the series' 21 volumes. Still, what's out there is good readin'.

I have also been enjoying Zak Sally's latest (last?) Recidivist and John Porcellino's Diary of a Mosquito Abatement Man compilation.
