in hopes of making tim laugh, i have remembered some other gems...
mrs mommy
killer bee kilt
dick hertz
these are at least moderately funny to me. i especially like the visual image of "killer bee kilt". like a bee beard, but, y'know, like a man-skirt version of a bee-beard.

"My Friend From Work's Band"
This is a pretty funny name. I 'd like make a t-shirt or button saying "Reluctant Supporter of the Arts" to wear when I see every friend's/co-worker's/friend of a friend's band/theatrical work.
Anyway more on topic Nurse with Wound is amusing, Napkin vs. Soda is funnier and the rest don't seem so funny thus far.
Goatsnake, which Mr. Midgett turned me on to elsewhere on the internet, is a band name that always makes me laugh.

yes, goatsnake is an incredible band name
the reason i love the name 'nurse with wound' is that it's not trying to be funny. it's not zany or kooky whatever. it's just the most stereotypically creepy-teutonic-noise-band name of all time.
if someone i knew made it up, i'd think it was funny. but the fact that there is actually a guy who makes music under the name 'nurse with wound,' this is even funnier.
ok, so that's it. i am heartened that someone out there agrees with me or is at least pretending to do so.
now, the MUSIC, it's not so funny. i kind of like it, what i have heard.

NWW isn't a bad name; it just doesn't make me laugh. Over the years I've gotten a chuckle or two out of Dinner is Ruined (bought the Lubritorium CD for the name, but it had some actual good tracks!), the Hellcows (bought the single, never played it--it would spoil the illusion), and Ed's Redeeming Qualities (good band and songs).
For some reason, though, I'm having a hard time thinking of really funny band names I've heard. Most "funny band names" discussions seem to end up with people reeling off long lists of imaginary excremental names which I guess must be funny to them, but they don't seem to retain any humor in concentration.
For a while, I'd wanted to start a band called "Lost Cat," so that we'd be putting up flyers saying "Lost Cat at the Such and Such Bar!" "Lost Cat at This Other Place," etc. Now I'm in the Stem Cell Liberation Front and also the Unindicted Co-Conspirators, which makes up for it.

Speaking of NWW, another thread about the famous list of obscure records that they put on their first LP enabled me to read that list for the first time. And there's a band on there called Sphinx Tush!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned John Cougar Concentration Camp.
A friend had an idea for naming a band "Ronald Madonna", which I think is really funny, but some others don't think so.
On a more offensive note, a guy told me about a cover band called "Niggers For Christ", which to me is hilarious on certan levels.
What about:
*Deutsch Bag
*Legomancer
*Pissing Razors
I saw a flyer for a show in L.A. by a band called "I Can Lick Any Son Of A Bitch In The House", which I thought was amusing.

i was once in the band TOMMY KILLNIGGER and thought it was funny.
i also like the name MALKOVICH (from holland, like myself) their music is real good too. BUTTHOLE SURFERS must be the funniest band name i think, maybe too obvious to mention here. i also like DAS OATH, BLOEDPROP, REAGAN YOUTH and DEEP WOUND speaking about wounds.
