Vacation in Reykjavik?

Thanks for the replies. We are hoping to go in august so we can catch the arora borialis.
i was hoping that icelandair wasn't the cheapest flight there. Because it's pretty expensive.

Perhaps we'll do that thing where you go there for one day/night on the way to the another european country.

Any other tips are welcome.

We made friends with a viking metal band while we were in Iceland called TYR. They were booked by the same promoter as us (but for a different show), so we got to spend a little time together. They weren't actually from Iceland. They were from the Faroe Islands (technically part of Denmark...but culturally more like Iceland).

This record cover should give you an idea. Nice guys. They asked us if we had ever heard of a band called "Danzig"?

The faroes are a strange place. I think, at some point, I'd like to go there. They have grass-covered roofs. I think there's something like 18 island which make up about 500 sq miles.

If you go be sure to check out TYR. I wouldn't be suprised if they live in houses with grass-covered roofs that they mow with swords.
