tommydski wrote:'leaves' was a great album.
i just wish they hadn't produced it themselves.
it sounds dreadful, great songs though.

This is interesting - what don't you like about it?

I like some of the heavy use of reverb on some of the tracks. I wonder if they used a plate. It sounds nice. Also things like the whispering backing vocals panned on the second track on CD2 (Scarlette?).

Quality-wise, I didn't think it sounded badly recorded either.

They make them like arty pretentious fruit like people.

I thought that was always Olympia's deal...I like some of that "fruity" music though...

I've owned more 7"'s from Unwound than any other band, methinks. Not Crap. The split 7" with Versus is quite nice.

their 1st record, having only heard it a few months ago for the first time, is absolutely NOT CRAP.

Did Fisk do most the recording?

I would quite like to hear some drums in the mix.

No biggy though. Not even a Waffle Factor for it. Just a minor annoyance.

agreed. everything sounds alright, except for the drums which sound like they set 'em up in a basement and put up a pair of 57's. cardboard boxes..

still, NC.
