I loved Michael C. Hall on Six Feet Under. Will have to check this out...

if the second season is half as good as the first, we've got something here. Has anybody read any of the books?

I've read the first book, but have yet to see the first season in it's entirety so I don't really know how they compare. The book was merely OK.

It is one of those rare cases that the show is leaps and bounds better than the book.

Anyone been watching this season? Any thoughts?

We've been following it.

I like that they've begun to show Dexter's character changing, but are still being coy about just how he's changing. I guess you could say they're being equivocal, but hey, this isn't Proust we're talking about. They're just trying to keep interest high.

His last kill was a departure, I thought, and only a subtle one, which was well played. The guy he killed was, after all, a killer himself and Dexter was adhering to the code, but just barely. His victim, compared with his others, wasn't a total monster and had just enough of Dexter in him to give Dexter himself further catalyst for what I think will be an explosive change toward the end of the season.

I wish I would have seen the first season, but this show is sweet.

Michael C. Hall is a pretty good actor.

Showtime seems a lot less "real" than HBO in terms of "slickness."


The board turned me onto this show...it's really great...and the Nastasia-y type string music fits the mood perfectly.

Do you guys like the first season better? Knowing what I know (namely who the Ice Truck Killer is), it's probably not worth going back to watch it, right?

I love this show. I think the 2nd season is actually a little better than the first so far(IMHO), but the first season is totally worth watching even if you know who the ice truck killer is.
I like the sister. I think she plays the part of an insecure woman trying to make her daddy proud perfectly. She's annoying, but I think she's supposed to be annoying. These last two episodes have been so good.

I really love everything about this show, all the story decisions made so far. I do miss the Ice Truck Killer though, he was one fun character...

Who thinks Lundy is going to discover the truth and need to be, um, "taken care" of??
Actually, I'm not too sure about him, but I'd be willing to put money on Lila kicking the bucket...

Yeah, Lila will probably die.

I don't know what will happen to Lundy. Maybe he'll turn out to be a killer, too.
