That guy probably has no money, which is probably why he did it -- nothing to lose. The best one can hope is that he filed assult charges and the guy spent some time in jail.

I think Pauly Shore is a dumb-ass comedian, but he doesn't deserve to be punched.

I saw a Rollins Band show back in the early 90s. They were playing with Cypress Hill and the Beastie Boys (I know...). Anyway, some wanna be gansta throws his shoe at Rollins and hits him right in the face. He doesn't seem to really care.

I notice him coil up his microphone cable and continue to sing.

Suddenly, the mic flies out of his hand and hits the kid. Rollins goes on this tirade about how the kid and his whole family are pieces of crap.

That was actually pretty cool to see someone get back at a dick-head fan. Sadly, the technology simply didn't exist to capture this event and post it on the www.... You'll just have to believe me. I'm sure someone else here may have seen it...

and another band i was in, a crowd memeber was assaulted by a guitar being swung. he had a big bleeding lump. but, he loved it so no-one got arrested or anything.

in another place we threw bottles BACK at people and got banned from playing there ever again.

Was it Bill Bruford? He can be a bit irritable. Claiming that "Yours is No Disgrace" is a ripoff of the Bonanza theme song is just belligerent.

at the request of my roommate, todd, here's my story from a bear claw show...

on our tour last summer at a show in pittsburgh, we played at a diy artspace/punk venue. while we were near the end of our set, a couple of guys were drunk off their asses and were getting a bit rough in the crowd. then all of the sudden the bigger guy picks up a desk that was by the side wall and starts throwing it around in the crowd. then all of the sudden he throws it at me on stage, hitting both my bass and me. i threw down my bass and yelled..."that's it!!!", jumping off the stage at him, punching him in the face repeatedly. as we were both then having a bit of a bout between the two of us, his friend punches me in the back of the head and i blacked out for a few seconds, leaving them to both pummel on me for a bit. the one of my friends pulled the second guy off of me and i got the first guy in a headlock, telling him it was over and he needed to stop. agreeing to stop, he then said, "why did you have to hit me?". confused as hell i said, "you threw a desk at me, how do you expect me to not react to that!". after arguing for a while more verbally, i gave up and went on stage to pack up my gear. then he walks up on stage saying that he wanted to talk "man to man". cautiously i agreed and tried to keep the conversation calm and then all of the sudden he asks me once again why i had to hit him. i repeated to him what i had stated earlier and all of the sudden he says, "i don't like your band anymore!" and sucker punches me on the side of my head. seeing my bass on the ground and not wanting it to get ruined by some drunk fuck, i tackled him off the stage, making us fall over the stage monitors and then face first onto the ground with him hitting the ground first. as we're punching each other, he then starts clawing at my back and then starts to choke me. at this time, scott from bear claw sees what's happening and jumps off stage and hits the guy three times in the face while the guy was choking me. my reaction to his choking me was to grab his bottom lip and pull it quite nicely away from his mouth in an ever so gentle manner. at this time, scott decided to pull me off of the guy and the two guys running the show grabbed the guy and kicked him out. we have a new song about the experience and here are the lyrics...
