EA forumist Hip Priest was kind enough to send me the 'deluxe edition' (two CD).
I just looked up the second CD:
1. Elected
2. Love and Affection
3. Billy's Got a Gun
4. Rock of the Ages Medley: Not Fade Away/My Generation/Radar Love/Come To
5. Women
6. Animal
7. Pour Some Sugar on Me [Extended Version]
8. Armageddon It [the Nuclear Mix]
9. Excitable [Orgasmic Mix]
10. Rocket [the Lunar Mix]
Nah. I'm sure you'll enjoy it more than me.

These guys were always ahead of their time with recording technology. They were off digital by the time everyone else started using it.
Every Rachel's record sounds great to my ear.
June of '44 - Tropics & Meridians
Oh drum sound! How I love thee! And your intertwining guitars dancing beautifully together! So great!
Zeppelin's Physical Graffiti. One of the first recordings where the drums started pulling at me.

this band is good.

Any Godspeed You! Release
Man Or Astro Man? - A Spectrum of Infinite Scale

Any Shellac Full Legnth
Anything Matt Bayles has engineered.
As you can see, I like albums with huge, spatial mixes or ones with a great, sonic 'blend' of the instruments.
Personally, I havent heard too many records in which the production is god-awful. Even if the overall audio quality is not "fantastic", most "lo-fi" albums have a nice aesthetic that encourages repeated listenings and isnt painful to sit through. Just the opposite can be true. The overall quality of a record can be astounding, but the mix is rather lifeless and dull.
