It's like breathing to me, so I can't very well stop now, can I?

to hopefully leave behind something unique that wouldn't exist otherwise.

I hope to become a better musician and artist.

I tend to gravitate toward activities where I find challenge and quickly get bored when I feel that I've mastered something. With music, I almost never feel adequate, either from a technical standpoint or a creative one. It's a constant struggle for self-improvement and growth in which I feel there is no apparent end in sight. This is partly why I pursue artistic endeavors in general, even though I am probably more naturally skilled in 'right brain' type things. I don't feel the same impulse to learn mathematics at a very high level, for example - mostly because the process is dull as hell, but also to some extent because I'm pretty sure I can do it.

To get back at my first girlfriend.

i hope to give something back to the medium that has brought me the most enjoyment of all others.

I never thought about "accomplishing" anything. I did what I did, that's it. No lofty goals. I don't think I ever even had a raison d'etre.

I do it because I own stock in a hearing aid company. So, for the money, I guess.

man well put, I feel exactly the same.
there was a while were I didn't do any music stuff for about 2 years and I went so fucking crazy. I was also smoking several buckets before going to work during this period so that probably didn't help either...

honestly I just want to make myself happy, and being on stage and blowing bands who are much bigger than us off stage, makes me happy...
