This is incorrect. RT's solo on "Shoot Out The Light" (among many others) is death defying and life affirming.

And as others have pointed out, how come no Neil Young or Tom Verlaine on the list? Twenty examples of pure outdated wank. Fuck that noise.

Seconded. You will never hear a solo as epic as this ever again after gracing your ears with Maggot Brain.

Thirdeded.

I'm sure we can all think of some great nominees.

"Psycho Killer"

Amen.

I nominate "How Soon Is Now" by The Smiths.

Paul K. and The Weathermen opened their set on Friday at Louisville's Air Devils Inn with a faithful rendition of "Maggot Brain," all the more impressive because there was only one guitarist. This was followed immediately by covers of Sinatra's "Summer Wind" and "A House Is Not a Motel."

Also sprinkled through the set: "Pale Blue Eyes," "Run Through the Jungle," "Summertime," "Coney Island Baby," "Tecumseh Valley," a John Cale song I forget the name of, and "Sister Ray."
