before i got my egc and was using a p-bass i had the settings as follows:

with the jazz bass it was the same.

gain- 8

i don't use the volume as mine is run through a power amp. qsc rmx 1450.

speakers: sunn 215B loaded w/ peavey black widows. sunn 412RL(?) loaded with tech soundsystem 12's.

Just used the mark I prototype into the power-amp-ins on some big modern Ampeg solid state head at our shows in Spain. It sounded exactly perfect to me.

Also, at the shellac/dianogah show last month I tried Jay's rickenbacker bass plugged into my shellac amp. It sounded identical to the travis bean.

So, I reckon that "my" "sound" is more like 80% traynor ts-50b, 10% speaker cabinet, and 10% new strings.

Also, I vote to call it the TS-50BW.

I imagine this pre will sound similar into any well designed, non-colored, power amp. incidentally We're working on a 200 watt power amp the size of a small brick. ;)

The Bean and the Rick have similar pickups as compared to Fender and others. The pole-pieces ar right under the string as apposed to the poles on a Fender which are flanking the string... for less punch.

Also, I wonder if those EV speakers you Deitz/EV cab guys use have more top-end than the Eminence speakers I'm more familiar with.

Also, I vote to call it the TS-50BW.

Hmmm, ok.

but I think it's time to ditch the "50"... since it's not 50 watts.

How about the "TS-BW Pre" or the "TS-Pre BW"?
