yup. their Hate Songs in E Minor is still one of my sentimental favs.

Creep Diets, The Complicated Futility of Ignorance, Teeth E.P., In A Word, etc. were all gold. The best, most hostile, teeming with anger noise this side of Songs About Fucking. (sue me if I'm kissing some ass)

Definitely.

Oh God yes. One of the faves. In the top 15.

Whenever I get down on myself for sucking on guitar, I think of Arto Lindsay and feel better; because, if he could make such good music and not know how to play at all, there just may be hope for me yet...

DNA makes me wanna dance like a sparking telephone wire. What a strangely groovy band.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

I actually think it could be better than Entertainment!, especially with the Another Day, Another Dollar EP tacked on at the end. Andy Gill was one hell of a guitarist...

Two different versions of "To Hell With Poverty!", which is too fucking badass. The second one is from 1983 with Sara Lee on bass, but it is still really ass-kickingly awesome despite everything I've been told about Go4 going to shit after Dave Allen left. As a side note, what kind of guitar is Andy Gill using in the second video? It looks interesting...

I agree with every single word of this post.

-A

PS- They did go to shit after Dave left, but that doesn't mean this performance isn't good.

Why thank you!

Today is The Day. I've never heard any other band that encompassed everything I like about music just as they have. I have never heard another band which sounds exactly like Today is The Day and I don't think I ever will. Any band that can pull this off, I have profound respect for.

Man or Astro Man?, Boards Of Canada, Aphex Twin, MBV, Mission Of Burma, Unsane, Earth, Zombi, Godspeed You! and Zappa round out the top ten.

i believe i had a formative teenage year where all that seemed to matter was either Propagandhi or I Spy. i prefer the latter in the long run. and a 3rd i think i'll throw up in the send space thread.

that followed by Jawbreaker and a mountain of J Church albums.

currently i'd say the newer Jackie-O stuff i suppose. Six organs. and working my way thru the Flaherty Corsano discography.

this could go on forever...

EDIT: maybe i'll just keep my nostalgia to myself. that thread is pretty full already. however, i reserve the right to change my mind yet again...

This is a good musical progression. Salut.
