Dog fighting is so fucking dumb.

This is a sad story : (

My cousin once had a gorgeous staffy dog called Bronx. He was a real hit with the kids and everyone loved him to bits.

One night he was taken, beaten, put in a dog fight, had cigarettes put out on him and urinated on.

The sick fucks who took him left him chained up at thier gate in the morning, so when my cousin wen tto take her 5 and 7 year old to school...You get the picture.

The dog survived, but he now has one eye.

I couldn't believe that anyone was still doing this.

Its grotesque.

This is terrible, sickening. I hope they caught the guys that did it.

I, unfortunately, didn't even know dogfighting was illegal. I knew it was inhumane, but has anyone noticed that it's made a bit of a comeback in music videos?
(For those of you who are sensible enough not to watch music videos, I'm telling you now, there are quite a few with dogfighting in them, so much so that most of the people I spoke to about Vick had no clue it was actually ILLEGAL)
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

By the way, Michael Vick is a piece of shit.

Gotta say, yes, dogfighting is loathsome and despicable, and Michael Vick is a piece of shit, but it is sort of interesting to see how the Electrical Kloset Klan comes out in force for this one...

let's see.... one reference to Johnny Cochrane (this is germane to this discussion... because Vick is black and so is Cochrane?) and one reference to Al Sharpton, see above.

One call to put [these people] in chains and starve them...

One thug and ghetto reference...

Nice one, guys. Your sheet is showing.

I guess I should've put a disclaimer in my EKK post saying that of course, this is a facetious statement. Sorry that was lost on you. I'll make a better attempt to flag that type of humor in the future. Has NOTHING to do with race here, don'tfear, it has to do with a total lack of respect for life and a "do unto others" sentiment.

Here's a blog I posted on myspace a while back.

Let Me Make This Perfectly Clear
Current mood: Preachy
Category: Preachy Life

I received a bulletin today with a link to a hate group embedded in it. I'm not sure if the poster realized this link was embedded but it has prompted me to write this. I will be sending this to the poster personally but wanted to share it with you, also.

I have a big problem with discrimination and injustice. I do not agree with racist, homophobic, you're different from me so I hate you type speech, actions or lifestyles.

I draw one line...

The Asshole Line and it's how I choose to judge people. No one sits on the fence of the asshole line. You either are an asshole or you are not. It doesn't matter who you worship or don't worship, who you sleep with or don't sleep with, what color you are, what ethnicity you are, what gender you are, if you're an asshole, I don't want to associate with you, if you are not then welcome friend.

To be clear here is a partial list of what I would consider a trait attributable to an asshole:

Lying; stealing; cheating; vicitimizing children or weak minded individuals; thinking you know how everyone else should live; being cruel or mean to animals or those weaker than yourself; mean spirited humor at the expense of another's difference, disability or infirmity; selfishness; backstabbing behavior; etc. I'm sure I've missed many traits but felt the need to give a partial definition of the qualities I think define asshole behavior.

After receiving that bulletin, I felt the need to make my beliefs about differences perfectly clear, in case there was any question.

Michael Vick fit's my definition, he's an asshole.
Don't let the strawberry win.

By the way, Michael Vick is a piece of shit.

The professional athletes in America's big three sports; football, basketball, baseball seem to be all thugs and fratboys, who wants to watch or admire that mentality? Not me.

Fuck dog-fighting, I want to see professional athlete fighting.

Chain 'em, starve 'em, fuck with 'em, then let 'em at each other.

I don't watch or know anything about the huge pile of shit that is American Professional Team Sports either.

I hate that they put this shit on the "news" too.

I'm not surprised by this, and here in MN we have Heroic College Athletes that are under investigation for raping a girl who was passed out and recording it on their cell phone camera.

By the way, Michael Vick is a piece of shit.

So i am one of those who does watch a lot of the american football. I enjoy it, as I do many other sports.

Elite male athletes, especially football players, are kind of set up for this sort of behavior.
First of all, they're generally pretty big, strong guys, so they've been able to push others around for probably their whole life.
Second, if they're in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, etc. they've probably been very good at their sport for a very long time, and were probably the star athlete at their high school. There are only 1500 or so players in the whole NFL, so anyone who got that far was probably a very big deal back in Carrington, ND or whereever the hell they came from, getting all sort of priviledge. Hell, I wasn't even much of a star athlete, and was still given a passing grade in algerbra to maintain my elegibility for the All-State team.
Third, There is a lot of money involved. Even a 3rd string lineman in his rookie season can expect to make $250k. Who else is that young, making that kind of money? Of course they're gonna act like idiots, replicating the behavior they see as successful (rappers, rock stars), regardless of race.
There are plenty of morally upstanding professional athletes. Some of them are actually very nice guys. I grew up with a couple of them, competed against a good number of them, and work with a one of the local teams on occasion. Very sweet guys, by and large.

All of that being said, I can't imagine any excuse for the kind of behavior Vick is charged with. And he's a second-rate quarterback, and should have been drafted as a running back.
No one is paying you to sit on that bed and cry.

By the way, Michael Vick is a piece of shit.

I concur with the above and I would also like to add that you cannot automatically assume that just because someone plays a sport that they are a "meatheaded jock" or whatever lame high school term you want to use.

I think Michael Vick and his ilk are a horrendous minority over the whole of professional sports.

I agree. But I am fortunate to be a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots, two teams whose players seem to stay out of trouble.
