31i don't know if this is embarassing or just funny, but being in philadelphia, i got all but 2 of them with a minute to go and then couldn't remember delaware or jersey.

I consider this a triumph though, as I've not lived in the United States for quite a while.
...I could probably do all 47 prefectures of Japan in under ten though, or name most of the counties of Scotland in under half an hour. . . or maybe figure out most of the -stans countries if given a day.

I can't believe I forgot them. Especially the well known ones like NJ, Hawaii, Michigan and Alaska.

Anyhow - had 45 states in under two minutes... then spent about 5 minutes getting Hawaii, Utah, Nevada, Kansas... then time ran out and I was still one short. DAMN YOU MINNESOTA!
