They are doing their best to imply it might be terrorism in spite of the fact every public safety group in our state is saying there is no evidence of terrorism and are calling it a structural tragedy.

Not just faux news, but most of the right wing noise machine

Michelle Malkin wrote:DHS issued a statement that the collapse “does not appear to be an act of terrorism.” Isn’t it too early to say anything meaningful about what it “appears” to be? Couldn’t they maybe, I dunno, say nothing until they actually know something?

My god these people are disgusting with their bloodlust for more war.

Michelle Malkin is one of the worst. She's just barely to the left of Ann Coulter, in that she doesn't overtly state her wish for liberals to be killed.

And if the situation was reversed and initial reports said "appears to be and act of terrorism" she would have no problem that they don't yet "actually know something".

I, and many other people I know drive over this bridge several times a week, it has been under contsruction. Very bad thing.

Glad you're ok Zom.

They keep downplaying the fact the bridge was under repair with workmen on the bridge when it fell. The "official" said they they weren't doing anything structural - I somehow find that hard to believe.
I hate when they leave roads like this open for traffic while fixing the road - detours people!

Sometimes I do, depending on what time it is. I do take it several times a month, sometimes several a week.

Glad my friends are okay so far from what I've heard too. Still seems so surreal.

Those pictures made me queasy. What a truly horrible event to go through.

The work they were doing seemed to be pretty run of the mill road maintence of the bridge's deck. Never saw anything that would make me think they were working on the structure.

However, a few weeks ago when the bridge was closed we took the 10th brdige that runs parallel to it and I was looking out the window and how the bridge was constructed, w/ no pillars just anchors at either side I commented that it didn't look particularly sturdy, esp in comaprison to the Stone Arch bride

Just awful. I was watching the Twins game when the news came out. I'm glad all PRFers' loved ones appear to be okay.

I read that this bridge was under repair and a handful of lanes on it were closed. I guess it could've been worse, with even more traffic on it when it collapsed. Terrible.
