Reproduce.

Seriously. My son has always risen early and I've gotten used to getting up. My wife sleeps in and I have some daily good time together with him.

It does help that my commute is 75 feet.

Fuck that. Did you watch the video on that page? That thing looks more like something Bam Margera would put in his parents bedroom in the middle of the night rather than something you'd willing want to wake up to every morning.

My dog would eat that flying thing within the first week, and then it would be useless.

It's dark when I wake up for work. By the time I get home it's dark, too.

I never see the daylight on my own time.

Fuck this shit.

A friend of mine kept a spotlight lamp at the foot of his bed and when his alarm would go off he'd lean forward and flick the light on. Despite collapsing back onto his pillow he could never get back to sleep because of the very bright light pointed at his eyes.

That thing looks great, might try it. Waking up early is not crap but nearly impossible for me. I usually get about 6 1/2 hours of sleep a night, but I still haven't gotten used to waking up before 7 yet.

I regularly sleep through:
One annoying "Hello Moto" ring at 6 (haven't even heard this one in months)
One annoying siren ring at 6:30
A horrible ringtone version of Rock and Roll by Velvet underground at 6:40
An alarm clock
Usually wake up around 7:10

Occasionally sleep through the lights being on and all that.

Once I hooked up a mini speaker to my alarm clock for a microphone and that worked alright, but wouldn't work for long so I haven't done it again.

llllllllllllllllllllllll wrote:Since I started at UPS I've had to significantly alter my sleeping schedule. Whereas I used to stay up til 2 am or so for the hell of, I now go to bed around 9 and wake up just before 4 am. Its actually not a bad schedule, being as I get off at 9 am, and since school hasn't started back up yet, I have the rest of the day to waste.

However, if I go to sleep anywhere past, I dunno, 10:30, I'm a confused, hateful man for the rest of the day.

So whats your stance on such a schedule? Crap or not?
I did the same shit for FedEx and it sucked balls.

My kid wakes me up bright and early, at around 6am, every day. It's been even worse since the daylight savings switch, sometimes 5am.

I think I'm going to try to submit a request to HR for a 16+ hour sleep marathon.

Gonna give this a try tomorrow actually, even though its late now and didn't sleep much last night. A haircut, a round at the gym, school work, searching for advertisers, and a festive night out? Well see if its possible!

Not crap if you're doing it on purpose, as you can get a bunch done before leaving for work, or whatever.

Total crap if you wake up suddenly at 4:30 am and can't get back to sleep no matter what you do. This is the worst.

For fuck's sake. Stayed up late last night, but that didn't stop me from getting out of bed by 8:30 this morning. This sucks.

Good news is that I was up early enough to put some goodies in the slow cooker to cook for 9 hours.

I used to like getting up around 5am while in Michigan at Camp Pinewood. Walking through the trees before the morning fog has burt off, most of the animals still sleeping... it was pretty cool.

You used to live at Camp Pinewood...year round?
