I've been told by doctors that there is no such thing as "stomach flu", that it is indeed food poisoning that makes you poop and barf.

After raw oysters and clams, a pork sandwich, and a gallon of booze on Saturday night, I had to spend all day yesterday within 10 feet of my bathroom. No barfing, thank goodness, since I hate vomiting, but good lord...let's just say that by 1:00pm, I was longing for the lotion-filled days of infancy. Miserable, miserable feeling.

I had 4 PBR's, a shot of Beam, and a fucking veggie sandwich! Why??? I had a three day weekend lined up to get all kinds of stuff done and spent it in my bed. I am really trying to restrain my anger for the "cafe" that inflicted this upon me.

Were all the veggies raw? Did they come off the cafe's salad bar by any chance?

You have way more to fear from these damn customize-your-own-salad bars that are everywhere, since everything is raw and more or less room temperature. Those are the perfect environments for amoeba and other creepy crawlies.

There was a cafe in the lobby of my last job's building. People at the agency were constantly getting sick from eating there and they told me "Stay away!". I ate lunch there at least 3 times a week and never got sick. Turns out all the victims ate the same thing - big salads. I ate the cooked meals and was fine.

They make the sandwhich out of view where they can put the poop on the food without anyone seeing.

It is important that you document your illness and report it to the health department. Food poisoning is caused by nothing but carelessness on the part of the restaurant.
