I've seen that picture used in an almost identical context once already this week. Goddamn Manowar.

frelnamp, male-on-female rape involves elements of oppression and intimidation here as well. Is that a justifiable reason to hate every straight male?

and i was citing it as such a label. which is why i was using it to describe someone else, and followed it up with "somewhat like myself" as i would never describe myself with words like "progressive", even though i might fit the bill on this or that issue. just like, if i were in a band that dreamt up all sorts of tempo changes and meandering arrangements, i would never describe it as "progressive rock". "progressive" is a BS label to apply to oneself.

anyhow

i never should have posted this topic! people take things too seriously, which is made worse when they misinterpret them. too many posts that begin with something along the lines of "so you mean to say...."

and a lot of "with us or against us" BS. "no, you don't understand, that makes you pro-homophobia".... an actual term that surfaced in this thread.

is there a difference between "pro-homophobia" and "homophobic"? dummy.

lighten up. i didn't mean to offend anyone. of course, i've had some fun in my own replies and might continue to do so, and much thanks to the few who have been posting in good-hearted fun as well.

whatever.

You'd have to ask a female who's been previously raped. I'm not talking about justifiable reasons, I'm talking about past trauma creating irrational visceral reactions in the present. Some straight women entertain rape fantasies, but might not enjoy the actual experience, leading to maybe an upset stomach when in the presence of men (except gay ones?) afterward. They would probably recover from the trauma and hate sooner, though, than say a strictly lesbian female who had been raped by a male.

frelnamp, what does that have to do with keeping in mind that in Jamaica homosexual rape is a method of intimidation?

If H.R. was subjected to rape then maybe we can keep the words "past trauma creating." Otherwise it's just irrational, backwards thinking - especially since last time I checked H.R. himself wasn't born in Jamaica, but rather he was born in London.

I legitimately have no idea. I think some people actually listen to Manowar, don't they?

Wow...that's quite a theory you have going on there...
Rape is an act of violence. It doesn't just make your tummy feel icky.

I don't understand why you would start a topic where you would ask everyone what they thought on the subject, a pretty ridiculous one at that, then tell everyone to lighten up based on their responses to your initial question. So, if someone found what you wrote to be ridiculous, the only acceptable response is to laugh or respond light-heartedly? I'm genuinely curious.
You are right about one thing though...you probably shouldn't have posted it, especially seing as you don't really seem to want anyone to actually respond.
