i didn't feel like catching it. it was a baby squirrel.

if a baby squirrel got in your house, think of the other vermin that are already hiding in your walls.

If your cat can pull that off, awesome.

Squirrels in the house suck. I had a nest of them in my apartment a couple years back. They were too smart for traps so the landlord had to poison them in October. No problems, assumed they left. Right around February, enormous flies were seen around our apartment and a powerful stench was going on in a couple rooms. Literally 9 squirrels were found above our ceilings. Fucking gross.

But keep a cat like that away from me, it knows the taste of blood. I don't know how loveable it is anymore.

One of my cats used to be a stray that hung around my building. I fed her once and she tried to win me over by bringing me mice every day. Once she earned her way into the house she showed no interest in going outside - she just sits around. No bloodlust.

Squirrels in the house suck.

Chipmunks, too. When I heard them running around in my ceiling, the rat trap got a workout that week, yes indeed.

No less than it was previously, and arguably moreso. That cat is protecting your (its) abode.

Bringing you the carcass is, again, an expression of love. "See? See what I did for you, the human which I otherwise merely tolerate? This dead thing, it is a GIFT! For YOU! Appreciate it, you damned bastard! And stop throwing the cushions at me or I'll douse them in the foulest of ammonias."

Seriously, this is what cats DO. If you do not like the idea of a predator living in your house, perhaps you're better off with something like a chinchilla or a dwarf hamster, something soft and harmless and lower on the food chain. Cats are killers.
