There were a lot of great albums this year. It's hard to remember them all. This was a pretty good year for music in general, as there were a ton of great reissues as well. Too much stuff for me to write in one response to this thread, but so far with what's been posted, the point is being made.

i always found a bit pointless to talk to "this year released albums" at all. personally, i always need several months of perspective before saying "oh this album is awesome". im still discovering records released in the last 3 years.

People ask me about new music all the time and I feel bad I can never recommend anything recent.

Since I get all of my really good recommendations from this forum, it's just easier this way.

My pick for album of the year is Pissed Jeans's "Hope For Men."

It took a few listens, but Bill Callahan's Woke On A Whaleheart finally grew on me. I now think it ranks right up there with the best of his Smog albums.

i may have to re-edit my list because I just copped the new Wu-Tang...
