No way! Happiness is stunning.
I'd say the scene with the dad confessing to his son would almost work as a short in itself. It is simultaneously moving and horrific to the extreme.

the part in "ghost dog" where he kills the dude by shooting up through the water pipe.
or the part in "branded to kill" that this was taken from... but the way it plays out in ghost dog is more appropriate for a short
if any john woo gunfight scene had been made as just a short, it would still work

If you took all of the fight scenes out of a Joh Woo movie, you would be left with a short I would probably want to see.
