I just spent the better half of the last hour picking up the scattered tiny bits of my brain matter off the floor of my apartment after I listening to Paradise for the first time.
The recording is absolutely beautiful. The drums, the tones, are all perfect. Excellent use of space.

It was YOU that got me into Haberdasher. I read your blog all the time. I didn't realise you posted here.
Weird.

I just heard the new album. It's perfect. Probably the best My Disco release, ever.

I went to this show last night. My Disco don't do much for me at all, but you guys are really good ... and it's been a long, long time since I've a local band I could say was 'really good' meaning 'really good', not just meaning 'good for a local band'.
No, wait, scratch 'local band' there and replace it with 'Australian band'. Aaarrggh, this country sucks at music! But your band is great.

Their first two EP's "Collapse of an Erratic Lung" and "The Language of Numbers" are amazing - especially the later one, very coherent as a whole and closes with the beautiful "Moment of Revelation" which has one of the best guitar/trumpet interactions that I have heard.
Their later output slowly loses it for me though,
The first LP "Cancer" was mostly OK, but their latest one - I am not so sure...
For some reason they don't like to play the old EPs live anymore - which is really sad

individually, the songs on paradise don't really work. i listened to a couple of songs on the myspace back when the album was first released and my reaction was pretty much '...wtf?'. i loved language of numbers, but the new stuff seemed too... empty. and ultimately boring.
eventually i gave the full album a spin. the songs have a completely different effect when you play them in context, the whole thing becomes very hypnotic and quite awesome, really. so yeah, definitely not crap.

Last show I saw, all they played was stuff off Paradise, I haven't heard anything off Cancer since September last year, or anythign before that for a long time.
