i guess they're trying to make the joker look scary, but he looks gross. i think they overdid it a little, in that "let's make things more extreme! this IS the 90s, PEOPLE" way

This isn't The Dark Knight.
Oh, and Steve Carell would have been an awesome Joker.
The comic is called
The Dark Knight Returns, not
The Dark Knight. If any comic has influenced the Chris Nolan Batman movies, he's said it was Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's
Long Halloween and
Dark Victory books.

mmm... Maggie Gyllenhaal
Ugh. I hate this Maggie Gyllenhaal. She's a dog. She can't act. She blames the victims of 9-11 for their own demise. Her last name is a pain in the ass to spell.
What is the appeal of this horrible women?
Where have the Audrey Hepburns and Anne Margarets gone?
These actresses nowadays look like smug teenage boys.
On Topic: Loved Batman Begins, and I will give this one the benefit of the doubt. (even if Heath Ledger is in it)

I think Carell would make a better Riddler.

I'm jonesing for this movie. I had no problems with Ledger being cast as the Joker, but I maintain that Mark Hamill should be given his shot. Those who were fans of Dini's animated Batman TV series know why.

I picked up a copy of Wizard(comic news mag) that had an on the set piece on The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger pointed out that the director had given him a copy of The Killing Joke(Joker tries driving Gordon insane in an attempt to prove just one bad day can push anyone over the edge)
If they are touching on that in the plot as well as what you've mentioned, that's a very promising move.

hahha i concur.
anyhow, the trailer looks awesome.
japmn wrote:That Joker looks like The Crow. Boo!
true, but it's more like a version of the crow with deeply twisted psychological knots. should be more interesting than the vigilante-type crow.

Heath Ledger as the Joker? Wow, that's a very expensive practical joke. Batman Begins was great though. It'll still be worth it.
